PC Wave Sheet Production Line

The PC wave sheet production line transforms solid PC raw materials (typically pellets or powder) into wave sheets of specific specifications, waveforms, and colors through a series of continuous processes. The entire line integrates key technologies such as polymer extrusion, forming, cooling, shaping, traction, cutting, and stacking.

II. Main Components and Functions

A standard PC wave sheet production line generally consists of the following core systems:

Systém načítania

● Function: Automatically transports PC primary material, recycled material (if reusable), and necessary color masterbatch from storage bins to the extrusion machine hopper.

● Components: Typically includes a vacuum loader, dryer/dehumidifier (PC material is highly sensitive to moisture and must be pre-dried), hopper, etc.

● Key Points: Ensures precise material ratio, uniform mixing, and thorough drying.

Extrusion Machine System

● Function: This is the "heart" of the production line. It melts solid PC material through electric heating and screw shear, plasticizing it into a uniform high-temperature viscous melt.

● Components: Mainly includes the barrel, screw (typically a single screw designed for PC characteristics), heating/cooling system, drive motor, etc.

● Key Points: Precise temperature control (zoned temperature control) and screw design are critical for melt quality and production efficiency.

T-Die

● Function: Receives the molten PC material from the extrusion machine and forms it into the initial shape and wave structure of the sheet. The die design directly determines the final product’s waveform (e.g., large wave, medium wave, small wave, trapezoidal wave, etc.).

● Type: A coat-hanger die is commonly used to ensure uniform distribution of the melt across the entire width.

● Key Points: Precise flow channel design, adjustable die lip gap, and high-grade alloy steel material with extremely high surface finish.

Forming and Cooling System (Shaping Table)

● Function: This is the key stage where the final wave shape is formed. The soft sheet blank from the die immediately enters a forming machine composed of a series of precision metal rollers.

● Process: The rollers use vacuum adsorption and cooling water circulation to precisely shape and rapidly cool the sheet blank, ensuring clear waveforms and dimensional stability.

● Key Points: The precision of the roller profile, cooling efficiency, and uniformity of vacuum adsorption determine the quality of the wave sheet.

Trakčná jednotka

● Function: Provides steady and constant pulling force to evenly draw the shaped wave sheet from the forming machine and convey it to subsequent units. It ensures continuous production and linearity of the sheet.

● Components: Typically consists of upper and lower rubber rollers or synchronous belts, with stepless speed adjustment synchronized with the extrusion speed.

Rezací stroj

● Function: Automatically cuts the continuously produced wave sheet to preset lengths.

● Type: Generally uses a traveling circular saw or planetary saw. The saw blade moves synchronously with the sheet during cutting and returns to its position after completion, ensuring smooth cuts without interrupting continuous production.

Stacking/Receiving System

● Function: Automatically receives the cut finished sheets and stacks them neatly for packaging.

● Method: Can be pneumatic suction cup type, belt conveyor type, or robotic type to reduce manual labor and prevent surface scratches on the sheets.

Control System

● Function: The "brain" of the entire production line. Typically uses a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and touch-screen HMI (Human-Machine Interface) to centrally control all motors, temperature controllers, vacuum pumps, cutting machines, etc.

● Advantages: Enables fully automated production, precise control of process parameters (temperature, speed, vacuum level, etc.), ensures consistent product quality, and facilitates recording and debugging.

Corrugated polycarbonate sheet is a high-performance flexible thermoplastic material featuring a durable wave pattern. It serves as an ideal choice for skylights, industrial and architectural roofing, building facades, commercial greenhouses, and DIY outdoor projects.

Compared to glass and acrylic, corrugated polycarbonate offers outstanding advantages: it is 200 times stronger than glass, provides up to 85% light transmission, and weighs 50% less, making it extremely easy to handle. With a very low yellowing index, this material retains its clarity and strength for 10 to 20 years without becoming brittle or discolored.

UV-protective coating on the corrugated polycarbonate sheets blocks up to 99% of harmful ultraviolet radiation. In addition, the roofing system is designed to be leak-resistant and, thanks to its light weight and high rigidity, can be installed easily without specialized tools.
